It vibrates at 0.0 Hz when she sits at the center. Which is to say: silence. Which is to say: ready. She is blind. Not the way we mean blind. She has eight eyes and none of them are useful for anything beyond detecting the direction of light. She has never seen the web. She built it anyway, because the web is not something she uses. The way your hand jerks back from a hot surface before pain arrives. Faster than decision. She is already moving toward the upper right quadrant when the wasp hits. What follows takes eleven seconds and involves no thought in the way we mean thought.
