What this is, and what it isn't
A 20-minute adaptive learning experience built around motivation science, cognitive science, and healthy design. It watches for ease, difficulty, fun, and boredom — then reshapes the next challenge in real time. The goal is to leave the learner wanting to return, not grinding to stay.
What this prototype does NOT do
No streaks. Missing a day costs nothing. No loot boxes. Nothing is randomized behind paywalls. No shame mechanics. Wrong answers produce information, not judgment. No endless feeds. The session ends with a satisfying "engine calibrated" moment at 20 minutes.
About "Bolt"
Bolt is a lightweight visual companion — a mascot, not a pretend friend. It reacts to performance and feelings. It does not claim emotions, sentience, or personhood.
V12 Features (New)
Animated Step-by-Step Explanations: After each answer, a numbered breakdown appears showing exactly how to solve the problem — making abstract concepts concrete and visible.
Confidence Calibration Feedback: Instant “metacognition badge” after each answer shows whether confidence matched reality ("Knew it and proved it!", "Better than you thought!", etc.) — builds self-awareness.
Eureka Moment Celebrations: When a learner nails a concept they previously struggled with, a special animation celebrates the growth — reinforcing that persistence pays off.
Real-World Connection Badges: Each question shows a real-world application ("NASA uses these same ratios!") making learning feel tangible and relevant.
Session Warmup Intro: First sessions begin with a 3.5-second breathing/focus exercise — setting a calm, intentional tone.
Parent Learning Moment Cards: Finish screen includes discussion prompts parents can use to talk about what was learned — bridging screen time and real conversation.
Interactive Discovery Lab: Before the first question, tap/click SVG elements to explore the concept hands-on. Rewards curiosity with XP and power-ups.

All data stays in this browser's local storage. Nothing is transmitted to a server. No analytics, no tracking, no accounts. No network requests of any kind. The "Copy parent report" button generates a human-readable summary plus JSON snapshot.
