Everett: Inventor Mode
A first adaptive learning profile for building Everett’s game-like tutor. This is not a fixed label — it updates from what Everett actually enjoys, skips, asks about, and masters.
North Star
Make learning feel like building a spaceship, not doing homework.
Everett should feel agency: choose missions, unlock powers, test ideas, and teach the system what works for him.
Current hypothesis
Inventor-mindedvisualsystems + spacelikes challengeStart with science/math/logic missions framed as engineering problems. Avoid babyish tone.
Adaptive engine
- Branch difficulty up/down after each answer
- Return missed concepts later via spaced repetition
- Switch formats: puzzle → story → song → visual
- Track fun rating separately from correctness

First missions
1. Rocket Ratio Lab — fractions as fuel mixtures
2. Gravity Detective — why planets orbit
3. Pattern Hacker — sequences + algorithms
4. Element Builder — protons unlock identities
Co-designer buttons
Everett should use these after each activity so the tutor learns him.
Gold-standard rules
- Never shame wrong answers
- Explain with analogies, not lectures
- One concept per mission
- Give real challenges, not fake praise
- Let Everett steer the next mission
